Katherine Perry is a Philadelphia based actor, improviser, and teaching artist. She grew up in New Jersey in the woods with the cows and antique shops, and moved to Philadelphia in August 2010. Katherine holds a BA from Lehigh University in both Psychology and Theatre, and studied with the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.
Katherine brings a great sense of warmth, specificity, and humor to her work. Dry and sarcastic at times, intense and fearless at others, and always present (unless there is a dog around). She has most recently appeared in Gypsy with the Arden Theatre Company, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at the Scranton Shakespeare Festival, Troilus & Cressida with Revolution Shakespeare, and as Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Katherine is a founding member of Bright Invention, the long-form improv ensemble of White Pines Productions in Elkins Park, and is a frequent improviser with Philly Senior Stages.
She is an active teaching artist in the Philadelphia community and has taught for the Arden Theatre Company, Walnut Street Theatre, White Pines, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Curio Theatre Company, and Theatre Horizon (most notably as part of their Autism Outreach Programming). Katherine served as the Director of Education for White Pines Productions from March 2015-October 2016 and is currently part of the education team for Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Walnut Street Theatre, and Haddonfield Theater Arts Center.
In addition to working with Philadelphia-area theater companies, Katherine created SEX TALK - a solo performance series directed by long-time collaborator Shamus Hunter McCarty. You can find out more information on the show by clicking the image below.
